Top benefits of home-schooling your kids

by Ownership June 1, 2020 No Comments

The homeschooling approach has always been there and there was a percentage of kids being homeschooled in the US since decades. But this trend is getting higher with the passage of time, and today, there are a lot of kids being home schooled and the percentage keeps rising all the time. according to the statistics of the homeschooled kids, there are around 2 million kids who are being taught by the parents or teachers at school.

Home schooling approach raises a lot of questions in our minds but rarely does the parents know how many benefits this can give to their children and to them as well. although there are more than 40 countries that have banned the homeschooling thing but still, we see that the trend keeps rising and the homeschooled kids are proving quite competent compared to the others.

So let us take a look at the list of benefits that this approach can promise. It would help clear a lot of doubts in your mind as well.

  1. The homeschooled kids do better at tests

The study of the 20,000 homeschooled kids revealed that they definitely do better in the tests compared to the school going one and it was found that the tests such as SAT and ACT were better solved by these homeschooled kids.

  1. More emotional freedom

Those who have gone to school, know that there are a lot of emotional challenges in one’s life as there is peer pressure, pressure of bullies and studies and a lot of other things that keep you emotionally disturbed. However, the studies revealed that the kids who are home schooled right from the beginning to the high school, are more mature and more emotionally strong compared to the regular ones.

  1. There is no home work

Since the kids are taught directly by the parents, they do not have to struggle with the lengthy homework and are engaged in the learning process in comparatively better way. The study also revealed that the home schooled kids were smarter as well.

  1. They are not socially isolated

One major criticism that the home schooling process faces, is the lack of social interaction of the children with other kids. This is not true as long as the parent knows how to take them along. If the kids get to make friends at their swimming, Sydney dance classes and gym classes, they can naturally make good friends.

  1. More flexible life and more chances for breaks

When the kids are home schooled, their parents can decide about their breaks and holidays. The parents can plan when to get a vacation for the kids and how long the lessons need to be. The school time can be divided into several learning phases in the whole day where the kids can have their activities, food and play time with the family as well. this helps give children their values too.
